Registration and Check-in Starts at 12:00 pm
at the Kingsport Town Center
formerly Fort Henry Mall, Belk Court
  Kingsport, TN

  • Join the fun and learn a thing or two at the third annual Tri-Cities ASME Egg Drop.  Designed to promote engineering and science in the  Tri-Cities community, it's also an excellent opportunity to encourage students to consider math, science, and other technical fields/disciplines as career options. This event is being organized by the Holston Section, ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers).

  • Objective:   Participants are asked to protect an egg from a second story drop to keep it from SMASHING when it hits the ground.  Accuracy of the drop, minimizing the weight of the protective device, and minimizing the number of components in the protective device – are all factors in determining who wins.

  • All ages, including adults, are encouraged to participate.

  • Format/Levels:  Compete as an individual, or compete as a team from your school, family, church, or other group.

  • Individual Registation Cost:  Early Registration is $3 if submitted online (or mail, postmarked) by February 18, 2010; a free T-shirt will be reserved for you; additional T-Shirts can be ordered.  On or after February 19th, Late Registration is $6 (we may not be able to guarantee T-shirt availability for late registrants).  Registration opens at 12:00 pm on the competition day.
